Since I already got my Mac, what better than to get an iPod too, right? After all, the iPod is the only compatibel portable media player for the Mac (or so I thought). But even with or without alternatives, I would prefer to have an iPod anyway. Hence, Saving For A Mac will now be called Saving For An iPod. This is for the simple reason that I don’t need to save for a mac anymore. But I still don’t have an iPod.
This time, credit card installment is no longer an option. I should be able to save enough cash to buy the iPod at its “cash” price. There is, after all, a lot of resellers in Tipid PC, PhilMUG, and even PEx. For those who are trying to save their hard earned money for an iPod, here is a spreadsheet of iPod prices from various sellers. I’m gonna try to update this regularly so that all of us Apple fanboys can get our gadgets at the most affordable prices. Click here for the ipod price list. Happy iPod hunting everyone.
Because I already got my Mac. This site was intended to earn money and then I would have used that money to buy a Mac. But I got a fairly good discount for a 0% interest credit card installment transaction. And I got a free keyboard protector and Sumdex sleeve, too.
Since the title of this site is “Saving For A Mac,” and I’m no longer saving for a Mac, I figured maybe some other people could make good use of it. SavingForAMac.com is for sale. At bargain price, of course. Pitch your offers by dropping a comment. Or simply just contact me.
This geek has been so busy trying to make money through the day job, SEO tactics on the other blog, and other online streams of income just to save for a Mac. That’s why for almost a month, I was not able to post here. I’m sorry for that. But to give you an update, I recently was able to “sell” my laptop for half the price of the white macbook that I am saving for. I really wanted the black Mac but it’s too pricey. I also earned a few bucks by trading some stocks. So I guess this makes me halfway done.
I have one more dilemma, though. I could get a Mac right now by swiping my credit card and buy the Macbook at 0% interest for 12 months. Doing this though would mean another 12 months of tightening the belt, plus the fact that I’m gonna have to buy the Macbook at a higher price. Power Mac Center sells the white Macbook at approximately PHP75000 ($1700) and it comes with a free 4GB iPod Nano. I can avail of it via 0% interest installment on my credit card, but at that price point, it is still too expensive. LongBeard, on the other hand, sells the same Macbook at only PHP60000 ($1333), but on cash basis only and no free iPod. I only have half the cash. Should I wait until I have saved enough (and save PHP15000 more)? Or should I give in to the instant gratification of having a Mac (a PHP15000 sacrifice, mind you)? Would the benefit of having the Mac right here, right now (with a free 4GB iPod Nano) at an additional cost of PHP15000 be worth it? Or am I better off waiting for a few more months to get the Mac at a more affordable price? I’m so confused…
How I wish there was an Apple Store here in the Philippines so I could buy the Mac at its suggested retail price of $1299. Oh well…Wishful thinking again
What’s better than having a Mac? Having both a Mac and an iPhone of course. The iPhone 3G is due to be out later this year according to Globe. The only dilemma I have is whether to keep my Smart line so that I could get a discount for switching to Globe, or just ditch the Smart line this early so that I could save a few bucks using a prepaid account. Another option is to just get a jailbroken iPhone, of course. What do guys think?

I have always wanted a Mac. And based on the Macs’ prices, I’ve decided to save for a Macbook. Now, the question is, what should I save for? A black Macbook? Or a white Macbook?
Black and White Compared:
Is the $200 markup for an additional 90GB of hard disk space and a change of color worth it? Please help me decide.

I have been a Windows user ever since I learned to use a computer. Up to now, I still am, because of my work. But ever since the Intel-based Macs came out, I’ve been dreaming of getting one. I frequent the Apple website to read updates. I read a lot of blogs and articles about its pros and cons, how it is compared to a windows PC, and pretty much everything else about the Mac. What I like most about the Mac is that it is not Windows, it rarely crashes, it just works.
From the iMac to the Macbook to the Mac Mini, at one point in time, I did want to have any of them. Macbook Pro and Macbook were not included because of budget constraints. LOL.
But right now, I don’t have the cash to buy one. Not even for a Mac mini. Yup, you could say I’m a little bit broke. Or i just don’t have enough cash. That’s why I started blogging so I could save for a Mac. Hopefully, I could make decent money online so that I could make the switch. In this blog, I will be blogging about mostly Apple stuff (Mac, iPhone, iPod, etc.) and of course, how I’m gonna save money to get my Mac.
